Air Temperature Forecast

Air Temperature

The forecasts for maximum and minimum temperatures respectively indicate the highest and lowest expected temperatures for a specific time period (e.g., the past 24 hours). Below in Figure 3.2A, we illustrate how the air temperature forecast graph is presented.

Figure 3.2A – Air Temperature Forecast Graph.

The forecast for the minimum temperature on the given days is represented by a blue line on the graph, surrounded by blue shaded areas indicating a small margin of error.

The forecast for the maximum temperature is represented by a red line on the graph, also surrounded by red shaded areas that illustrate a small margin of error.

Dew point temperature is another important and commonly used meteorological variable, particularly in scenarios where air temperature and relative humidity play a crucial role. It is a useful parameter not only for weather forecasting, such as predicting fog events or cloud development, but also for urban climate management and, consequently, human health.

The dew point is represented on the graph by a blue square, which fluctuates and is always found near the line representing the minimum temperature forecast. If the user opts to view detailed temperature forecasts for the next 14 days, they should click on the “View Hourly” button at the bottom of the air temperature forecast page, as illustrated in Figure 3.2B below.

Figure 3.2B – Hourly Forecast Button.

By clicking the button for the “Hourly Forecast,” the user will receive information on the hourly air temperature and dew point forecasts for each hour of the day, as illustrated in Figure 3.2C below

On the detailed hourly air temperature forecast page, the top section of the page displays options for selecting days with detailed forecasts, and the bottom section shows the times for the respective forecast dates.
